According to China Customs data, VPFIT counts the export data of vapes from China to the United States in the first half of 2023.
According to statistics, from January to June 2023, China vape exports to the United States amounted to US$1.489 billion. It accounts for 48.20% of last year’s total exports, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%.
China Vape Export Weight to US(2022-2023 Jan-Jun)
During this period, the total export volume of China vapes is about 30,700 tons, equivalent to 55.2% of the annual export volume in 2022.
Comparing the same time in 2022, the export volume of vapes from China get an increase of 17.77%.
Among them, the export value and volume of Chinese vapes in April were the highest in the first half of the year. The total export value is 307 million US dollars and total weight is 6319.47 tons.
The data shows that from January to March this year, China’s vape products exports to the United States fluctuated significantly compared with the previous year. From April to June, it was relatively stable compared with the previous year.
However, from February to June, China vaping devices exports to the US maintained a year-on-year growth of about 30%. This is different from the trend of export volume.

Disposable vapes take 74% of the total China vape export volume.
From the perspective of product categories, during January to June 2023, China’s export value of disposable vapes to US reached 1.1 billion US dollars. The disposable vape devices accounts for about 74% of China vape total exports to the United States. The average export value is about 183 million US dollars.
The export value of other vape products (mainly cartridge-changing and open pod system) was US$389 million. The average monthly export value of these China vape devices is about US$65 million.
China Vape Export to US Price Trend (2022-2023 Jan-Jun)
From the perspective of export unit price, the average exports unit price of China vapes is decline slowly.
In the first half of 2023, the export unit price of vapes from China is approximately US$62.52 per kilogram. Among them, the average export unit price of disposable vapes is 42.54 US dollars per kilogram. While the average export unit price of other vaping products (open type, cartridge-changing) is 82.49 US dollars per kilogram.
During January to June, the average price of disposable vaping products reaches the highest in January, with an average price of US$45.84 per kilogram. It reaches the lowest in June, with a price of US$39.18 per kilogram, and the price of disposable vapes continue to decline slowly.
Other vaping products (open pod system, cartridge-changing) had the highest average price in March at $88.24. And the lowest price is in February at $74.46 per kilogram.
