In September 2023, the total value of Chinese vape export to Russia reached at approximately US$33.3 million. It is a month-on-month increase of 5.56% and a year-on-year decrease of 24.05%.
The total export weight of vapes from China to Russia in that month was approximately 709 tons. The export weight gets a month-on-month increase of 3.34%, and a year-on-year decrease of 1.99%.
The export unit price of China vape to Russia was US$46.96/kg, a 2.14% month-on-month increase and 22.51% year-on-year decrease. The average price of “e-cigarettes and similar personal vaporizing equipment” was US$8.16/unit.
Among them, “electronic cigarettes and similar personal electronic vaporizing devices” accounted for 21.37% of the export categories. However, “electronic vaporizer products containing nicotine, intended for inhalation without combustion” accounted for 78.63%.
According to Statista data, the e-cigarette market revenue in Russia is expected to reach US$1.1 billion in 2023. In addition, the market is expected to have an annual growth rate of 2.80% (compound annual growth rate from 2023 to 2028). Moreover, taking the total population into account, their per capita consumption is approximately US$8.93. Therefore, under the circumstances of increased consumer demand and regulatory contraction, the Russian e-cigarette market has also begun to turn from rapid growth.
Moreover, among the countries along the “Belt and Road”, Russia is a largest export destination of China vapes.
From January 2022 to September 2023, China vapes totally exported US$872 million in value to Russia, and 15,888 tons in total weight.
