Stuffs of KNB seized smuggled vapes during border inspections. 3 Kazakh citizens has been detained. These vape products including well-known vape brand like SMOANT, SOLO BAR, INFLAVE AIR, etc.
The estimated value of the these vape brand products is about 2.4 billion tenge (approximately more than 38 million yuan). Staffs of KNB (Committee of national security of Kazakhstan) and the State Revenue Committee has detained three Kazakh citizens.

It is happening during a check at the Dostyq vehicle checkpoint. These people are trying to bring a large number of vapes into the country by truck. However, they do not have the relevant accompanying documents.
According to reports, the seized goods involved vape brands including Smoant, Solo bar, and INFLAVE AIR (top 10 vape brands in the Russian market), etc. The initial valuation of these goods is about 2.4 billion tenge (about 38 million yuan).
For further investigation, the persons and goods have been handed over to the Territorial Division of the Economic Investigation Department. This department belongs to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

What’s more, on February 27, 2023, the Kazakhstan Border Service detained a foreign citizen at a car checkpoint in the Zhambyl region. This man was also trying to carry a large number of vape products without accompanying documents. It is worth about 90 million tenge (about RMB 1.43 million yuan).
Previously, Volodin, Speaker of the Russian State Duma, said that he would unite with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union to crack down on gray channels. He specifically named Belarus and Kazakhstan at that time.
