UK Vape Data: 7.7 Million Disposable Vapes sold Every Week

Sales of disposable vapes are growing rapidly in the UK. YouGov’s new polling data shows that up to 7.7 million disposable vape devices are now being bought every week. In this article, VPFIT, the top vape manufacturer from China,  will share the disposable vapes sales data in UK.

Sales of disposable vapes(including vape pens, vape pods, vape mods, etc) may have doubled in the past year.

Moreover, bringing with them an increasing amount of scrap plastic and battery material. This raises further concerns about the large amounts of plastic and battery waste that will generate.

The research, based on an online survey of more than 5,100 British adults last month. The research shows sales of disposable vapes have doubled from last year, with annual sales set to reach 360 million.

Meanwhile, moves are also underway across Europe to tight regulation of the fast-growing vape industry.

France are laying out plans to ban disposable vapes and proposing an EU-wide ban starting in 2026. In addition, German Environment Minister Steffi Lemke also supports the move. And she hopes to ban disposable vapes(vape pens, vape pods, vape mods, etc) across the EU.

The UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) is considering commenting. But this association has often opposed moves to ban or restrict the sale of disposable vape. They believe that disposable products play a key role in helping people quit smoking.

Five million disposable vapes are thrown away in the UK every week

Previously, Material Focus, a British recycling movement organization, finds that five million disposable vape devices are discarded every week in the UK. It is a fourfold increase from last year.

Material Focus calculates that British adults buy approximately 30 million vapes every month, This is based on data from a Yougov survey of 5,156 people above.

In addition, the study finds that only 17% of vape users correctly put discarded vapes into recycling bins.

The vape industry is working to increase recycling rates. More and more vape manufacturers from China and other regions are R&D new vapes with recyclable materials. The potential annual cost of recycling all these vapes would be £200m. The vape manufacturer, importer or retailer will bear this cost.
